Seminars

The seminars for the upcoming edition of Kristiansand International Children's film festival will be announced in 2017. The festival will be arranged from the 25th to the 30th of April. The following seminars are the ones that were held in 2016:

DOCUMENTARY SEMINAR
APPRECIATION, TOLERANCE AND INVOLVEMENT (2016)

Thursday, April 28th | Aladdin Rød | 10 am – 12:30 pm

Documentaries are a product of a politically motivated sender, but also important personal stories, who deserves an audience. By using a variety of film makers and their examples, this seminar focuses on how the documentary form — hopefully — can help to create understanding, and a counterbalance to fiction film's often black and white representation of 'the others.'

FILMS ON THE HORIZON (2016)

Thursday, April 28th| Aladdin Rød | 18:00 pm

Films on the Horizon is a work-in-progress presentation of upcoming features for children and youth from the Nordic countries. This year 5 different projects will be presented on April 28th.

NFI:LAB SEMINAR:
CHILDREN AS AN AUDIENCE – FROM SCRIPT TO SCREEN (2016)

Friday, April 29th | Aladdin Rød | 10:30 am – 13:30 pm

In cooperation with NFI:LAB we have the pleasure to invite you to a seminar about how we can understand children's interaction with content in the digital world, and how this knowledge can be used when writing scripts with a young audience in mind. We will also look at how films were received among children in Sweden, and how to write scripts for a young audience.

JAPANESE ANIMATED FILM SEMINAR (2016)

Friday, April 29th | Kristiansand Public Library | 11.30 am

In addition to our three Ghibli films, we have the pleasure to invite you to a lecture about Japanese animation, in cooperation with Kristiansand's Public Library. Animation is a greatly respected art form in Japan, and we are able to invite you into this universe by the help of our lecturers Hans Ivar Stordal and Fredrik Wandrup. The lecture will be held in Norwegian.
