The film submission for KICFF 2023 is now closed!

The 26th edition of KICFF takes place from the 25th – 30th of April 2023.

Enter your film for consideration now! We screen both feature length and short films, live action, documentaries, and animation! Our target audience is children and young audience aged 3 to 19, so films made for any age group in this range will be of interest. We prefer online or downloadable screeners.

Note that we only accept films with first official screening date after January 1st, 2022.

Main entry deadline: 15th of December 2022.
Deadline for Norwegian short films (up to 30 min.): 1st of February 2023. Films completed in 2022/2023.

Here is an overview of our different film awards at KICFF 2023.

  • The KICFF children’s film award: This goes to the best foreign film for children. It includes NOK 50,000 in support to a Norwegian distributor who brings the film to the Norwegian cinemas.
  • Best Norwegian short film: This will be shortlisted for next year's Amanda awards at The Norwegian international film festival in Haugesund.
  • The audience award: A feature or animation film selected by our audience.
  • The ECFA jury's two film awards: Best European documentary and best European children's film.
  • The children's jury's two awards: Best International short film and best international feature film.
  • Award for the best Norwegian pitch (TV series or feature film idea).

In our program Filmfest-UNG, we have two awards. The UNG award for best feature film and the UNG award for best Norwegian short film.
