Joachim Trier’s impressive debut film. Wannabe authors and best friends Erik and Philip both eagerly post their manuscripts. Philip’s book is accepted, but his career as a writer is halted by a psychosis and an obsessive love affair to Kari, an East End girl. All of this affects the friendship. The film is exquisitely shot and cut, and well worth seeing. A true modern Norwegian classic.
