The Crossing

The Crossing is a film about confidence, friendship and great courage in small people.

December 1942 and four children are on the run.

Sarah and Daniel are Jews and are about to be deported. They have been hiding in the basement of Otto and Gerda’s family home, but they have been discovered and the parents have been arrested. Otto and Gerda decide to help their new friends. Through snowy forests the four children flee German soldiers. Their goal is to make it across the border to neutral Sweden. Thankfully they meet good helpers along their way. But who can they really trust?

We have been told this story again and again, in movies, books and newspapers, but always for the adults. Finally, here is a film about the war for the whole family.
The Crossing is a drama about trust and friendship, fear, and great courage in small people.

Maja Lunde is an award-winning Norwegian author who has written the screenplay for The Crossing. The film is based on her 2012 book and is an exciting, moving, and thought-provoking story based on historical events.
