December 1942 and four children are on the run.
Sarah and Daniel are Jews and are about to be deported. They have been hiding in the basement of Otto and Gerda’s family home, but they have been discovered and the parents have been arrested. Otto and Gerda decide to help their new friends. Through snowy forests the four children flee German soldiers. Their goal is to make it across the border to neutral Sweden.
