Lola's father could never accept the fact that she was trans, and not the son he wanted. After many arguments and confrontations, Lola is now living in a youth shelter. She dreams of becoming a veterinary assistant but feels hopelessly alone. When she learns of her mother's death, Lola rushes back home to attend the funeral. Things do not turn out as she would like, and she soon finds herself stuck in a car with her father. The two are forced together on a road trip to bring her mother to her final resting place.
Lola is a film about family trauma and pain – but also forgiveness.
