Ninjababy

A film about falling, but getting back up again

23-year-old Rakel has an uneventful and unromantic one-night stand that doesn't go down in the history books, until six months later when she realises she is pregnant. She feels like the baby growing inside her has tricked her, like "a sneaky ninja baby who thinks he can just hide in there and enjoy himself, and then sneak out nine months later". Rakel has never dreamt of becoming a mother and now finds herself navigating the territory between what she thinks is the best for her, and the best for her child. Soon the ninjababy appears in Rakel's sketchbooks, and he quickly realises he has to fight for his future.

The film is based on the Norwegian comic book "Fallteknikk" by Inga H. Sætre, who has also done the animations in Ninjababy.
