The Seed

Doreen moves to a small town with her family. She struggles to fit in, but eventually becomes close with Mara, the girl next door. Everything is going swimmingly until Doreen’s father gets demoted and Doreen is starting to get uncomfortable with Mara. Mara persuades her to join her in illegal and dangerous stuff, for them and others. A film about one family's need for communication and support in hard times, and how hard it can be to choose between integrity, dignity, and justice in a cold and sometimes cruel world.
