In a fictional kingdom where both magic and 19th-century technology are widespread, and the background is marked by war. We follow the young hat maker Sophie, who, on her way to visit her sister, meets the wizard Howl. Later that same day, she is cursed by the Witch of the Waste and transformed into an old woman. Sophie embarks on a journey and becomes acquainted with Howl and his roaming, living castle. Together, they try to break the curse that hangs over them, and the film explores themes of destiny, courage, and love.
