Matilda is a super-smart girl who loves books—something her parents find rather inconvenient. At school she meets the strictest principal imaginable, who really doesn’t like children. But Matilda has both brains, courage, and a few very unusual powers. Soon mysterious things begin to happen, and the fearsome principal finally meets a student she can’t quite scare.
