Films on the Horizon

After the presentation we travel together to Kristiansand Zoo to see the animals and enjoy som food and each others company. We will travel together to the Zoo by bus from outside Kristiansand Cinema at 6.30 PM. We will return together at 11 PM.

The Kristiansand International Children's Film Festival will be held for the 29th time from April 20 - 25 2026. The festival is a large audience festival with around 15,000 registered tickets. The festival also has a large industry program - with seminars, presentations and workshops - which brings together Norwegian and foreign industry that works with film stories for children and young people.

Back toTottori! is a coming-of-age adventure about the fragile bond between two sisters on the verge of drifting apart. Believing every photograph holds an irreplaceable moment, Billie tries to recreate their shared memories and return to a time when they were close. The journey becomes an exploration of identity, mental health and the distance that can grow within families.

Uncle Egg

Twelve-year-old Hauk lives on a remote island in Northern Norway. When his mother introduces yet another stepfather, he sets out to find his real father. All he knows is the name Martin Müller and that he lives somewhere in Germany — but there are over 25,000 men with that name. With his eccentric Uncle Egg, Hauk travels by train to Germany. Along the way, he searches for his father and gains a deeper understanding of himself, his family and where he belongs.

Santa’s Workshop

In this universe, it is the kids who show the adults how to open up, stay curious and embrace differences.
